transpixel Between 9th & 10th & Main--this fountain is located in a median island right in downtown Kansas City. In the 19th Century , there was a wedge-shaped building (a hotel, I think) located right at this spot, and a sort of crossing-guard employed by the streetcar company would wait here at this spot to warn pedestrians and drivers of horse-drawn vehicles about approaching streetcars. transpixel
